In 1954 I asked Jesus to be my Lord. I have by no means arrived at perfection. I need God,s Mercy, Grace, and Forgiveness daily.

My sweetheart and I have been married almost 40 years. We have 4 adult children, and 9 grandchildren.

My theological underpinnings are American Baptist, however I am a Southern Baptist. I am conserative in Theology and Liberal in my Grace and Mercy.

As an American Baptist I learned how important it is to encourage and support women in ministry. I believe a woman should be ordained when she is called to serve, in whatever position the Lord and the Church has called her to minister in.

As a Southern Baptist, I do affirm The Baptist Faith And Message. There is one main area I do not agree with, that area is women in ministry.
Women have long held every position in the Church, and history shows without women in ministry, the church would not have grown in the 18 hundreds to now.

The position that women alone are to "submit" has been taken out of context, it is "mutual submission to each other as husband and wife," The idea that women are second class Christians is ignorant, and offensive, to God and women and even to some mature men. A wife is a "help mate" not a door mat! A wife is to be elevated and cherrished. For me this is what Jesus called us to be and do.

I find the Study Bible Forum interesting. I like to share my understandings and what other believers view of Scripture is. We all are to be growing and maturing into the Body of Christ.

I Have many Bible translations, but I mainly use NASB and NIV Bibles. I especialy enjoy the LIFE Application Bible and the NIV Study Bible.

P.S. From May 6, 2001 until May 9, 2002 I used the mane "farout" which some thought was too far out, and made 92 posts. I wished I had kept the name Farout, as that's what I use everywhere but here!
