Where are muslims in the Bible?
Ex 20:3
Retxar, since Islam is of more than passing interest to us these days because of the enormity of the events that continue to alter the course of history, I'd like to follow your note with a thumb-nail of the Islamic religion. Islam, although youngest of major world religons, is now the second largest and 1 in 5 of the earth's populaton is Muslim..... It began in Saudi Arabia, but non-Arab Muslims make up about 75 per cent of Islam. Muhammad, born in Mecca in 570 A.D. was the key person in the founding of Islam. His people were polytheistic, recognizing some 360 deities, among them the god Allah. In 610 A.D. Muhammad claimed a series of visits from Gabriel which resulted in the compilation of the Quran (Koran). Muhammad preached monotheism, was persecuted and fled to Medina. He raised an army and defeated Mecca in 630 A.D. He personally destroyed all the other idols, selected Allah, and proclaimed that there is no god but Allah..... Contrasts between Islam and Christianity: (1) Islam rejects the Trinity, believing Christians have 3 Gods (2) Islam believes man is basically good (3) Islam believes in God's forgiveness without atonement. (4) Islam believes salvation is by works, not substitutionary death. (5) Islam believes Jesus was taken up to heaven and Judas was crucified (6) Islam believes the Bible is prophetic but corrupted. --Hank
Empty inside being a Roman Catholic?

My husband was raised Roman Catholic, although he is not practicing the faith actively, he results back to it in times of trial with his rosary. Without trying to insult him, I am trying to find the right words or explanations of what is wrong in the way they practice their religon. That is why he still feels so empty inside. Can someone help me?

Empty inside being a Roman Catholic?
James 2:17
Catrose62, while I am not a Roman Catholic and cannot therefore speak very meaningfully or definitively of "what is wrong in the way they practice their religion," I can nontheless speak empirically about my own faith. I was saved when I was 14 years old. But there have been times in my life when I have strayed, when I permitted the things of the world to take over and crowd out my walk with the Lord. And as a result, I felt empty inside, felt that something vital was missing in my life. My prayer life diminished and only in times of personal crises did I earnestly turn to God in prayer. I let secular works of literature take precedence over my study of the Bible. I let the Sunday newspaper fill the time when I should have been worshiping God in His house. In short, I fell out of fellowship with God. My faith, instead of being the active, vital faith that God wants us to have -- the kind of faith that gives us so many blessings in Christ -- became, as James 2:17 says, a dead faith, not backed up by deeds and actions of obedience. So the key issue, I believe, is not the church we belong to but the Christ we belong to. Are we giving Him our full allegiance? --Hank
Why claim your tithes on your taxes?
Bible general Archive 1
Praise God, we live in a country that not only allows freedom of religon, but our country also allows you to claim your tithes on your taxes! You can't out give God. But on the other hand, lets assume for a moment that you give your tithes
to your church and the pastor uses the money for the wrong purpose, who did you give your tithes to? Lets face it, we serve an Awesome God!
Be faithful and yes the windows of heaven will open. Nice talking to you, and remember Jesus is a Life Changer!!!

  Difference of Religon and Christianity?
James 1:27

Religion can be any religion: i.e. moslims, buddist, and other beliefs that we have in our days. And Christianity are belongs to a kind of religion, or one of the religion. Christianity or Christian is the religion derrive from our Lord Jesus Christ i.e. catholics, protestants. There are other religion claiming that they are Christian but denying the being God of Jesus Christ.

Almost all of the Christian religions also claiming that they are the true religion that derrive from Christ, but this is the kind of pure religion that mentions by James:

Jas 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father
is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their
affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Easton Bible Dictionary: Christian
the name given by the Greeks or Romans,
probably in reproach, to the followers of Jesus. It
was first used at Antioch. The names by which
the disciples were known among themselves
were "brethren," "the faithful," "elect," "saints,"
"believers." But as distinguishing them from the
multitude without, the name "Christian" came
into use, and was universally accepted. This
name occurs but three times in the New
Testament (Ac 11:26; 26:28; 1Pe 4:16).

  Difference of Religon and Christianity?
James 1:27
And one more....Religon is man looking for God.
Christianity is man finding God through Jesus.

Hi, pup! Your question covers such a vast segment of religious and secular history that I, in thinking of how it might be possible to give you a reasonably short answer, abandoned the idea as being worthless. Your subject is so enormous in scope that literally thousands of books have been written about it. The best advice I can share with you is to visit your library or bookstore and select from any number of volumes that treat of the history of religions and religious groups. You will find much on the Web also that may help you to learn more on this subject. Perhaps years hence you may become an expert and can help us all better to understand the religious Tower of Babel which we have all of us to some extent helped to construct! --Hank
  seeking information about "rapture"
NT general
Dear Mark, Don't be discouraged. We as Christians are in a quest for truth. When the Lord opens our eyes and we are hungry,we search.
There is nothing wrong with having an opinion that differs especially when Rapture isn't a word found in the Bible at all. Rapture is defined as a catching away when the Lord says, The Earth is He's and the Fullness there of. The Kingdom of God will be established here when Jesus comes. The problem with a secret Rapture would mean there is a third coming when Jesus comes again to Judge the wicked after the 7 years but the Bible only talks of a 2nd coming not 3 comings of Jesus. The Bible does say He will appear in the East and be seen in the West as lightning in the sky.
I Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and dead in Christ shall rise first. 17 Then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Lets examine. The Lord shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God. Doesn't sound very quiet does it? Sounds like a celebration when Jesus comes for His bride doesn't it? Also, it states we will be changed in a twinkling of an eye which will be a Glorious Day. But how could flesh dwell in His presence. The scriptures also refers to being caught up in the air which is a statment that refers to the air and air surrounds the earth. Also, in Acts 1:11 The Angels talking "Men of Galilee, why are you standing here staring at the sky? Jesus has been taken away from you into heaven. And someday, just as you saw him go, he will return! Which refers to the same manner in which He left. All could see.

Also, Why would a God who states I am not a God of confusion bring absolute confusion on the world. By planes crashing, driver's of vehicles disappearing, and children missing.

Doesn't John talk of the Anti-christ already being in his time and doesn't Revelation 13 talk of the Anti-Christ system, The Bible talks in types and shadows couldn't we see that the wisdom of God thru the Holy Spirit telling us that the beast is a system in the Spirit world and acts like and preforms as the Anti-Christ. Why would the anti-christ be anything less than the one trying to imitate the All mighty God.
2 Thess 2:1 And now, brothers and sisters, let us tell you about the coming again of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered together to meet him. 2 Please don't be so easily shaken and troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
There have been many with a system of anti-christ spirit. Hitler who used the Jews as comman ground to build an empire out of what Jews possessed. Catholic Church who tortured and killed many who would not convert to there faith during the Aquistion. And to gain money for comman ground to build an empire. Now, we can see this same Spirit in the Middle East with the war to wipe out any one who helps the Jewish nation who wants all the Land and Kill anyone that doesn't convert and gain possessions to gain an empire from others possesions.
We can see a people being used by this anti-christ spirit with purpose for Comman ground to exalt itself in a Religon used to stronghold people into believing 2 Timothy 3:5 "They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that."

We are a many body member to pull together as one. Many people try to discern the word of God with our minds and not through the Spirit. When we do this we are blind to spiritual truth. God is pulling a people together and calling people out of the Religious System to find the truth of God to have the image of God stamped on our Souls.
1 John 1:7-9 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
  WILL FAMILY ACCEPT MORMON SPOUSE
Acts 1:1
I really can't answer your question. But I'll just say what I want to say. First, may God keep blessing you. I'm a young person and I know sin, so I have learned to not judge people who sin for they do what they do not want to do. I'm learning these days that God is true, not a lie. He is a God of all times but for us a God of the moment. What does this mean? There is a lot of work to be done. I know that my spirit sences a good revolution for the christian people and there is no time to let the devil put in our minds thoughts of guiltness. If we fall, let's not stay down, let's get up. God is there sitting waiting to say: "See I told you so, now you have to suffer the consequences and the guilt of your sin." Tes, I know that sin we commit is concequences that we suffer, but God is there saying, "Come on let's keep going." I have learned that God doesn't work like that. I have learned that God does not think like we do. Don't ever let anything take away your joy. New they are each day and big is His fidelity (in my words). Get up and who ever judges you don't listen to them. Did you not know that there can be a an unequal yolk even with the person from your religon and from your church? It is so. Mybe this first man was even a more unequal yoke than this mormon. If he is how you say, for I am not there to hear both side of the story. But I trust you need the answer for you have wanted to ask for it. The first christians practiced what most humanist practice or would like to practice. They practiced socialism. Selling all they have and being equal. Loved one another. Your family should remember their roots. I can't judge them for I know them not, but if they humblely treat people, others will see that they have the truth, if they are christians. I believe that you marry one person for life. Your first husband is you husband, but if he is how you said, you had the right to leave him, he did not deserve you. This second one, if already married, do your best to open his eyes. Believe in the power of God I ask you. Be humble and summisive but do not be taken as a fool. The man is the head of the house not the whole body. Both do things not just one.
  WHO are the "nations?"
Rev 20:8
I mentioned in my earlier post that there would be a great crowd that would survie Armageddon ( Gods war against all False religon and people not wanting to do God's will )( Acutally the bible says that people would be just like in the days of Noah).
Matthew 24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only.( an interesting point here is that even Jesus did not know the day our the hour)
37 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
You asked about Rev 20:8
God always provides a means of escape to the people worshiping him with sprit and thruth. ( shown by history) Some will survie Armageddon and many from all the nations of people that have died will be ressureccted into that 1000 year rein. These will not have been tested so the Bible says that many will fail this test.

  Armegeddon question?
Rev 20:8
  Greetings again jme!

It seems we disagree about the battle of Armegeddon and it's timing.

You described the battle of Armegeddon as "Gods war against all False religon and people not wanting to do God's will." Where do you see this in God's Word?

You wrote: God always provides a means of escape to the people worshiping him with sprit and thruth. ( shown by history) Some will survie Armageddon"

Where do you see this?

"and many from all the nations of people that have died will be ressureccted into that 1000 year rein."

Please support this statement!"These (those resurrected?)will not have been tested so the Bible says that many will fail this test."

Are you saying that the battle of Armegeddon precedes the 1000 year reign of Christ? We may have some controversy here.

Which is this battle described in Rev. 20:7-10

After this final battle, all will be resurrected to stand before the Throne of God for their final judgment.(Rev 20:11-15)

  Sealing of the 144,000?
Rev 14:1
  Hi Steve
If you read the earlier posts I did mention that that God would not cast off all people forever he always left a way out for the ones that were trying to do his will actually Gods purpose in the beginning was to fill the earth with happy perfect people all worshipping Him with Spirit and truth, that still is his purpose.

Rev 7:1-8
1After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3"Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." 4Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
5From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben 12,000,
from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
6from the tribe of Asher 12,000,
from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000,
from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,
7from the tribe of Simeon 12,000,
from the tribe of Levi 12,000,
from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,
8from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000,
from the tribe of Joseph 12,000,
from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

(These cannot be the tribes of natural Israel because there never was a tribe of Joseph, the tribes of Ephraim and Dan are not included in the list here, and the Levites were set aside for service in connection with the temple but were not reckoned as one of the 12 tribes. See Numbers 1:4-16.)

Below is Gods view who is a Jew or not, Man's view is that if you are born a Jew is the ownly way to be a Jew. Even if you that up their religon you are not a Jew but of Jewish faith.
Romans 2:28,29
28A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God.

Gal 3:26
26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

I hope this helps what I was trying to say.
jme
