 Question:
Reading John4:43-54 and Matthew 15:22-28
The nobleman and the canaanite woman were were a little alike.
They both belived in Jesus, the didn't need to see signs or wonders. The nobleman had high standing and statue, how little he felt when asking Jesus or demanding that Jesus heal his son,the women also demanding to Jesus
to heal her daughter. The canaanite women was very poor but her faith was so strong. He also didn't need to have Jesus show her a sign or any type of wonder. Stan can show us signs and wonders, but he makes us weak in our believe in God. So in manying way they both were alike.

Hope I understand correct.

Thanks

Hi sweet, I appreciate your questions today and your comparisons of Scriptures. I encourage you to continue in doing that. I, too, see the two passages as good comparisons.

I don't see the characters as demanding as you do, but they certainly were people of faith. The Canaanite woman recognized Him as the Son of David, Matthew 15:22 and the royal official recognized Him as the Prophet, John 4:44.

Matthew 15:25, "But she came and began to bow down before Him/, saying, "Lord, help me." Here she is worshiping Him and begging "Lord, help me."

John 4:47, "When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him/ and was requesting Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death." Here when Jesus came to Galilee the official went to Him and was requesting Him to come down and heal his son.

The people who need signs and wonders have only to look at Jonah, three days in the belly of the fish and Jesus, three days in the tomb. Also, 1 John 5:8 tells us that "there are three that bear witness, the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

The signs that we have are the things that God told us in advance in the Scriptures. The many things that were prophesied and fulfilled. Matthew 24:24,25, "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you in advance."

From the heart, Ray
