 Subject:
Where in Acts does it say that?
 Note:
Hi Bible Thumper,

It's not about "bringing out the fight", it's about "rightly dividing the word of truth".

1 Cor 12
10 and to another, workings of powers, and to another, prophecy, and to another, discerning of spirits, and to another, kinds of languages, and to another, interpretation of languages.
11 But the one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing separately to each as He wills.

"...distributing separately to each as He wills."

1 Cor 12
29 Are all apostles? All prophets? All teachers? All workers of power?
30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak languages? Do all interpret?
31 But zealously strive after the better gifts.

Do you propose that these are NOT rhetorical questions calling for the answer of "no"?

1 Cor 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

1 Cor 12:28 And God placed some in the assembly: firstly, apostles; secondly, prophets; thirdly, teachers; then works of power; then gifts of healing, helps, governings, kinds of languages.

This Scripture shows clearly the order of gifts.

You wrote "there are 2 different types of tongues. #1 is the 'gift of tongues' and #2 is the actual infilling of the Holy Ghost." What is your Scriptural foundation to define the gift of tongues as the infilling of the Holy Spirit?

You may think it is a safe assumption what Simon saw, but it remains your assumption, and not the inspired Word of God.

God gives the gifts as He chooses, and we do not all receive the same as each other. The Bible is explicit that not all have the gift of tongues.

Your disagreement is not with me, it is with Scripture.

Love in Christ,
Mark
