 Question:
What is the difference in being filled with the Holy Spirit(Acts 2:3.4) and receiving (John 20:22,23) the Holy Spirit.
 Answer:
From context, it is logical to conclude that it is mainly a matter of magnitude. In John 20: 22,23 Jesus blessed is Apostles with the holy spirit as a helper for the future, since he would soon be gone from the Earth. This was as much a faith-strengthening exercise as it was anything else. But in Acts 2:3,4 Holy Spirit 'fills' the disciples for the accomplishment of an awesome feat, that of preaching 'in tongues' to foreign residents etc. It was unprecedented.
