God, Are You There?

Before God I used my own mind to think, reason, and figure things out; now that I'm saved I keep hearing my husband say the Lord told him this and the Lord told him that and I can't tell the difference between then and now! I read the Word, I pray, and I reach for Him, yet I can't honestly say I know the Holy Spirit is directing me in any way that I am aware of. Can any one help me?
