NASB Matthew 6:25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
AMPLIFIED Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?

I am in a college age Bible study and we are going through the book of Matthew. Our question was: what is the "Therefore I tell you" in Matthew 6:25 reffering to? What is it there for? Is it a response in context to matthew 6:24 or the previous chapters?
