Greetings,
When one mentions the law with regards to the Bible, few fail to notice that the Law of the Old Testament was broken up into parts known as,
Codex number one, Codex number two and Codex number three.
The proceeding covered all of the areas of the following and it is all considered the Law.
Moral code, Social code and the Ceremonial code.
Excerpts from (bible.com)
The Law of Moses Given to Israel
The Mosaic Law is what we are most concerned about in relation to the New Testament believer. This consisted of 365 negative commands and 248 positive for a total of 613 commands. These may also be divided into three parts or sections (see below)—the moral, the social, and the ceremonial. As such, it covered every possible area of the life of Israel. It should be stressed that the moral principles embodied in the Mosaic Law given at Sinai were merely the codified expression of the eternal moral law of God as it was given to Israel to govern her life as a nation in order to experience God’s blessing under the Abrahamic covenant. For more on this aspect, see below.

Dear justme,
Your statement, "Recently there has been some dialogue about this very subject. It pains me that those who believe the keeping of the LAW are so adamant that those who do not believe the way they do, are or as I understand their dialogue, not true believers."
Your statement is absolutely correct. Those who do this are those who believe in the "Law as a Rule of Life". And, like you, it pains me that so many new believers have been led down this erroneous path into a life of fear rather than a life of victory in Christ Jesus.
I believe you'll benefit from the words written by William Kelly taken from "The Writings of William Kelly". The final paragraph is particularly enlightening.
"Wherefore, leaving the word of the beginning of the Christ, let us press on unto full growth." The new status of the Christian depends on Christ dead, risen, and in heaven. The infinite sacrifice is already offered and accepted; and only so has Christ taken His seat on the right hand of the Majesty on high. We cannot therefore go to elements before the cross for that which forms and fashions the Christian. We, if full-grown, need the corn of the land, now that it is no longer a question of raining manna in the wilderness.
"For those that were once enlightened, and tasted the heavenly gift, and became partakers of the Holy Spirit, and tasted God's good word and powers of [an] age to come, and fell away, [it is] impossible to renew again unto repentance, crucifying for themselves as they do and putting to shame the Son of God. For land that drank the rain that often cometh upon it, and bringeth forth herbage meet for those for whose sake it is also tilled, partaketh of blessing from God; but Yielding thorns and thistles [it is] worthless and near a curse, the end of which [is] to be burned" (verses 4-8).
It is observable that we read here of enlightenment, not of new birth or eternal life. Undoubtedly the heavenly gift comes before us; and so it is not earthly like the associations of the Messiah, but "heavenly" because of contrast with Canaan hopes. How great a boon that God is now revealing heavenly grace! Further, it is not the old and essential truth of the Holy Spirit quickening a soul by the word, still less of now sealing the believer and for ever dwelling in him. We must not forget that He was sent down also to constitute the assembly of God's habitation; so that all introduced therein were in a general way partakers of the Spirit. Whoever bowed to the gospel tasted God's word as good, and received it with joy as of far different savour from that law which was a ministration of death and condemnation. twlavista

how I can Eat God's Words? |

Welcome to the forum.
The verse in Jer.
Jeremiah 15:16
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
This is literally the intake of God Word Scripture.
The word in the Hebrew for eat is as follows from (STRONG’S)
'akal, Hebrew 398, Strong’s
'akal, aw-kal'; a primitive root; to eat (literal or figurative) at all, burn up, consume, devour (-er, up), dine, eat (-er, up), feed (with), food, freely, in...wise (-deed, plenty), (lay) meat, quite.
Before this is accomplished, one must be reborn of the Spirit. Have you come to this point yet in your spiritual walk?
Jesus said the following which ties into the verse in Jeremiah.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
That’s the intake of God’s word on a daily basis in order to sustain the new birth that God gives to those that put all of their hope for eternal life in the one that God sent; Jesus Christ, God’s uniquely born Son.
Have a great day and enjoy the forum, CDBJ

God's day to you, yaesmij, and welcome to the SBF,
The Bible dosen't say what day He died. I believe Friday is an error of tradition. The following is a repost of mine.
These are the events of His last week on earth. The Jewish day which starts at 6pm, so I indicated the day of the week as we see it. For example, (Th/Fr) is from Thursday 6pm to Friday 6pm for Nisan 8, the their day before the Sabbath (6th day of the week).
Nisan 8 (Th/Fr) - Jesus goes from Jericho to Bethany
(John 12:1).
"Jesus, therefore, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany." Passover is Nisan 14 (Exo 12:6-15)
-----------------
Nisan 9 (Fr/Sa) - Sabbath - Five days before the Passover ....
(John 12:9)
On the next day, "the great multitude therefore of the Jews learned that He was there (in Bethany); and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead." While it was a Sabbath, people still could travel.
-----------------
Nisan 10 (Sa/Su) - Lamb Selection - Four days before the Passover ...
(Matt. 21:1-17, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-46, John 12:12-18)
"On the next day the great multitude who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took the branches of the palm trees, and went out to meet Him, and began to cry out, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel." (John 12:12-13) This "next day" is now known as Palm Sunday.
"He left them and went out of the city to Bethany where he spent the night" (Matt 21:17).
-----------------
Nisan 11 (Su/Mo) - Fig Tree Cursed - Three days before the Passover ...
(Matt 21:18-22, Mark 11:12-18, Luke 19:47).
On "the next day. . . ." (Mark 11:12). Also Matthew 21:18. Jesus cursed the barren fig tree and cleansed the Temple.
-----------------
Nisan 12 (Mo/Tu) - Olivet Discourse - Two days before the Passover ...
(Matt 21:23--25:46, Mark 11:19-13:37, Luke 20:1-21:38)
The next day, "as they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up." (Mark 11:20) After a day at the Temple, Jesus gave His discourse on the Mount of Olives.
Mark 14:1-2 is still the same day. Matthew 26:2-5 is a cross reference, verse 2 says "You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be delivered up for crucifixion."
-----------------
Nisan 13 (evening) (Tu) - At Simon's - One day before the Passover ...
(Matt 26:1-16, Mark 14:3-11, Luke 22:1-6, John 12:1-7).
That evening was the supper where Mary anointed Jesus for burial, and Judas went to the chief priests to betray Jesus.
----
Nisan 13 (daytime) (We) - Preparing for the Passover
(Matt 26:17-19, Mark 14:12-16, Luke 22:7-13)
The phrase "First Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread" can begin as early as Nisan 13 when leaven is removed from the homes.
-----------------
Nisan 14 (evening) (We) - Last Supper, Arrest and More
(Matt 26:20-27:10, Mark 14:17-72, Luke 22:14-71, John 13:1-18:27)
"When evening came" (Mark 14:17) The events after Jesus' arrest moved rapidly. He was brought briefly before Annas, and then led before Caiaphas and some elders.
----
Nisan 14 (daytime) (Th) - Preparation Day/ Killing of The Lamb
(Matt 27:11-61, Mark 15:1-47, Luke 23:1-56, John 18:28-19:42)
Mark 15:1 says "Very early in the morning." John 18:28 says the Jews had not eaten the Passover, which would be that evening, Nisan 15.
He was buried before evening.
-----------------
Nisan 15 (Th/Fr) - Guard at the Tomb (High Sabbath)
(Matt 27:62-66) ... one day since His death (Luke 24:1)
Now since the Jews had eaten the Passover, they could go back to Pilate. They knew what He said, so they could have requested this when they were there before.
-----------------
Nisan 16 (Fr/Sa) - Weekly Sabbath
... two days since His death (Luke 24:1)
-----------------
Nisan 17 (Sa/Su) - First Day of the Week
... three days since His death (Luke 24:1)
----------------

I can tell you how to hear the voice of God. In order to know His voice, you have to read His word first. You have to spend time in the presence of God. For example, this is just like a person having a relationship with a friend. The more time you spend with that person, the more you will become familiar with their voice, likes, dislikes etc. I believe this is the same with God. God can also speak through pastors (that is why it is so important for people to go to church.) The bible says how will they hear without a prophet. So studying the word for yourself, spending time in the presence of God through prayer and meditating on His word and going to church are ways to help "sharpen your ear" to what God has to say. |

Hi Dad of Five,
Me too... :-)
Welcome to the forum!
There is no biblical record of how Jeremiah met his end, but we know by reading Jer 43:1-7 that he went down to Egypt, and there is no biblical record of him returning. Extra-biblical writers (Jerome and Tertullian) have been reported to say that he may have been stoned to death there by the Jews. But there is no biblical prof of that at all so its just speculation.
