¶ The sons of Shem
Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech.
And it came about in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim,
¶ These are
the records of
the generations of Shem. Shem was one hundred years old, and became the father of Arpachshad two years after the flood;
"I will set a sign among them and will send survivors from them to the nations: Tarshish, Put, Lud, Meshech, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coastlands that have neither heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare My glory among the nations.
